LUGGAGE
(Jim Felman-Emery Pike)
I come down and see you and I, come down and see.
Roll down the windows and I wonder where I’m gonna be.
I come down and see you and I, come down and see.
Roll down the windows and I wonder where I’m gonna be.
Unpack the packs please won’t you, unpack the packs.
Take a walk in the neighborhood and we’ll see, what’s
to do.
Unpack the packs please won’t you, unpack the packs.
Take a walk in the neighborhood and we’ll see, what’s
to do.
Here I stand and I’m gonna walk on through the woods.
Here I stand and I’m gonna make you feel alright.

Emery’s Notes:
Jim Felman and I played in a
great band a while back called “The Unnecessary Rules”. This is a tune that
was always floating around but never got finished. Now it is.
The lyrics are deliberately opaque, but were
inspired by the return visit of an estranged lover of a mutual friend of
ours. The guitar solos were mostly done on a 1968 Gibson ES-335 through a
late 60’s Fender Super Reverb amp---straight through, with ‘verb added in
the mix. I am a huge Jimmy Page fan, so the last solo is my nod to the
Zepmeister.
